           Sub :   Central Excise–Constitution of Regional Advisory Committee for Organised Sector/Small Scale Industries Sector for the Block Year 2007-2008.

            Attention of the Trade is invited to this Commissionerate Trade Notice No.07/2005 dated 11.02.2005  on the above subject.

            A  new Regional Advisory Committee for Organised/SSI Sector  has been constituted  with the Commissioner of Central Excise & Customs, Surat-I  as Chairman and the following Trade Representatives as member for the  Block year 2007-2008       
  

        The Additional Commissioner (Tech), Central Excise & Customs, Surat-I will act as Secretary to the committee.

         The function of the Regional Advisory Committee (Organised/SSI  sector) will be purely advisory and to resolve procedural difficulties of general nature. The committee will meet once in a quarter on the date decided after mutual consultation. The meetings will ordinarily be held at the Commissionerate Hdqrs., unless the Chairman decides a different venue. The committee shall not discuss individual cases, judicial and quasi-judicial matters. Since every Commissionerate of Central Excise has its own Regional Advisory Committee, the points raised for discussion should as far as possible relate to the matter pertaining to the Units in jurisdiction of the Central Excise Commissionerate, Surat – I  only.

         Travelling allowance and daily allowance admissible to the members of the committee will be regulated in accordance with the existing rules/instructions.

         The term of  this committee will  now expire on 31.12.2008. The address of the Secretary of the committee is as under:
